State-of-the-art depot opens in Oman: Tank container storage and depot services
Sohar Port Free Zone in Oman is one of the world’s fastest growing ports and freezones. Becoming the main gateway to Oman’s petrochemical industry and the ideal transhipment point to cater for the needs of Qatar, it is the perfect location for a state-of-the-art tank container depot.
Cleaning, repairing and testing
But what is tank container storage without added value depot services to improve supply chains and lower costs? To meet these requirements, the facility offers a one-stop approach for tank container storage as well as cleaning, repairing and testing. A second phase of the facility will be developed for drumming and warehousing. The depot is also compliant with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 and includes a wastewater treatment plant and air scrubbers which greatly reduce any negative environmental impact.
Partner of the region
Joint Tank Services has been partner of the region since 1998, when we opened the first dedicated tank cleaning and service facility depot there (Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates). We have been developing hand-in-hand with the region ever since. Today, the relocated JTS Jebel Ali depot covers an area of more than 28,000 sq m, with a storage capacity for 1,800 empty tank containers and a lifting capacity up to nine tonnes.
